Merle's Opens Patio

Merle's Place, located at 440 N. Seneca, recently expanded and added an outdoor patio on the north side of the building.  The expansion doubles their space and they have added more tables as well as another pool table and some other games.

Of course, they still have their tasty menu of sandwiches and snacks.  Stop by and check it out.

I had lunch at Merle's this past week. Love the sweet chicken salad on Pita! I hadn't been there lately and was pleasantly surprised. They have expanded into the building to the north and added outdoor seating. I am assuming the outdoor area is for the smokers but try to keep me out of there on a nice night! I used to walk by there when I was a kid going to the municipal pool. You could hear the pool players and smell the scent of beer through the front screen door. Off limits to us kiddos so we would try to peek in as we ran by.

Merle's has been around forever! Great enchiladas.
Actually, Delano has three pool hall type bars that have been around a long time. The Shamrock and Club Billiards are well known too. I don't know which one is the oldest, but they all have their own following.

I think Merle's has been around since the 40's. They have wooden booths and the bar is really old looking--maybe even original.
